After earning a B.A. in major Journalism of Radio and Television, I worked for several years as a copywriter and creative marketing planner in advertising and marketing agencies before transitioning to work independently as a scriptwriter for films, documentaries, and videos. Due to the dramatic decline of freedom of speech in my homeland, I moved to Germany and studied M.A. media and cultural studies. Now I am living in Germany as PhD candidate specializing in media, film and cultural studies. My research focuses on surveillance and film, surveillance images, experimental film and found-footage film. I write in Chinese, English and German.

This blog aims not only to post some of my research in media, film and cultural studies but also interesting and socially significant non-fictional stories. Another important goal is to foster cultural, information and academic exchange. On one hand, I will write articles in my research fields in Chinese and translate relevant theories and articles into Chinese that are little known or rarely discussed in China. On the other hand, I will introduce aspects of Chinese films, media, and culture that are less familiar or rarely researched in English- and German-speaking contexts.
